So, as many of you know, I went home for 3 weeks in the middle of October. The main excuse was my brother’s wedding, but it turned out to be a perfect time to go home for numerous reasons: it was still warm and beautiful out (the fall colors were gorgeous), several of my best friends from St. Olaf were able to go to MN then as well, and I really needed a vacation from Senegal and a chance to get refocused and re-energized for my second year as a PCV. It was a fantastic 3 weeks to say the least. Highlights of my time at home involve going boating, family dinners, a mini-St. Olaf reunion, my brother’s wedding, hiking through a colorful forest (in long pants and a sweatshirt and gloves…not sweating), and drinking good beer (and wine and…you get the idea). :) Here are a few of my favorite pictures from my trip home (more can be found on my Picasa webpage – see link at the top of the info column in the right of my blog):
